An essential item in any proper navigation kit, the 18-inch (457 mm) parallel rule joins two clear acrylic rules, inscribed with a protractor scale, by aluminium arms.

Walking a course

Align one rule with the course line, then walk the pair to the nearest compass rose by holding one rule firmly and swinging the other. The angle never changes, so you read the course straight off the rose.

The protractor scale lets you use any meridian instead. A protective plastic sleeve is included.
