You can save a life by following the steps on this quick-reference wheel. One side directs initial actions and recovery; the reverse describes the five steps of the Williamson Turn.
The Williamson Turn
Used by vessels under power when the casualty's position is uncertain, the turn brings you back down your own wake on the reciprocal course. Set your heading on the wheel, put the helm hard over until you have turned 60°, then hard the other way through 240° to the reciprocal; the wheel shows each heading.
Full-colour durable plastic, 7 × 7 in, with a hole for a lanyard so it can live by the wheel.
